History
For decades, Northampton has remained a prominent name in the world of international management schools, shaping global leaders with over two decades of experience under its belt. As the Fourth Industrial Revolution brings about unprecedented changes, Northampton continues to forge flexible, ethical leaders who are prepared to build sustainable businesses, economies, cultures and environments for the 21st century worldwide.
Established on the fields of London and Boston, the Northampton School of Global Management has attracted people from all over the world since its inception. General Young, Northampton’s first president, set up the guiding philosophy of the institution – “Borders frequented by trade seldom need soldiers,” a phrase coined by Dr. William Lord Schurz, an original member of the faculty. This philosophy marked the birth of Northampton’s mission to “educate global leaders who create sustainable prosperity worldwide.”
Northampton was the first institution of higher education to solely focus on international management. It achieved this by centering its curriculum around cross-cultural communication, regional business studies, and practical training in international business. Today, its world-renowned faculty, all of whom have extensive experience in international business, maintain this approach to global management education.
